Since I started working, my makeup removing routine has become like a ritual to me. Not only do I wear more makeup nowadays, but removing it is often also the only pampering I have time for during the week. That's why I was really curious to try Clinique's 'Take The Day Off' range. After all, taking the day off is more than just removing makeup but also leaving all the daily stress behind. The two products I got to try are the cleansing balm and the makeup remover. Both come in a really pretty purple and silver packagings and they are the first Clinique beauty products I ever used.
CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes and Lips
If you regularly read my beauty reviews you know that I love these two-way formula eye makeup removers. The Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover has been ophtalmologically tested and is suitable for contact lens wearers. When using it I noticed that it's gentler and less greasy that similar products. It also didn't get into my eyes like other makeup removers do and didn't burn on my skin. The makeup removing power could be a bit higher though.
CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
The cleansing balm, which comes in a 125ml pot, has a really interesting texture that I've never seen before. It is a solid balm but as soon as you apply it to your face it turns into a silky oil. At first I wasn't sure how much balm I would need for my face, but it can be used quite economically. Applying it felt a bit weird because the balm is quite dry. However after removing it all with water, my skin felt really clean and fresh and all my makeup had gone. The balm is non-greasy and non-drying, but I would rather recommend it for greasy, mixed and normal than for dry skin.
All in all I can recommend both products, which you can buy here.
