April, and thus a really crazy month, is coming to an end. Not only was it crazy when it comes to the weather (the warmest sunshine and snow took turns here in Luxembourg), but also when it comes to my live. At the beginning of the month I finished my master's thesis and now I've already been doing my internship at a local magazine for two weeks. Blogwise there have been some exciting things going on as well, as for example the collaboration with Femmes Magazine or the press trip to Antwerp (all things you could follow on my social media channels). Being so busy obviously also meant that I didn't have that much time to actually create content for the blog, but the recent events definitely gave me some inspirations for future posts and projects. Today however, I want to update you with an old classic on my blog, namely a review of the beauty products I emptied or sorted out this month.
Spring weather is currently taking a break so I'm showing you what I wore last week when it was all sunny outside. You surely already saw these awesome patch slip ons as I spammed my social media channels with them. As much as I love them I must admit that I wouldn't have bought them without the Scotch&Soda voucher I got at the UPR shopping tour last month. Especially as I was a bit disappointed to find out that they aren't comfortable at all. However I do have my methods to run in new shoes so I hope I'll be able to wear them all day everyday during my trip to the US this summer.
You surely all noticed that funny patch applications in 90s styles are one of the major fashion trends this season. For me it all started off with the Zoe Karssen boyfriend patch jeans, but everyone who knows me also knows that I don't spend 250€ on a single piece of clothing. As the cheaper alternatives were only hitting the market bit by bit, I decided that this trend was the perfect occasion to tackle a DIY again at last.
If you follow me on social media you know that I am currently doing an internship at a local lifestyle magazine. And the advantage of being a magazine intern is definitely that you get access to all kinds of awesome events. That's why I had the chance to go to the fashion show of the Luxembourgish clothing brand Vol(t)age yesterday. I've been wanting to cover the brand in my "Fashion Made in Luxembourg" series for a while now, so this event came in handy.
I'm finally back with a new designer piece made in Luxembourg! I've yet again teamed up with the lovely Maddalena, designer at her own brand Manalena, to show you one of her recent creations. And this time she made it even more local by working with the "Mamie & Moi" solidarity brand. Mamie & Moi, French for "Grandma & Me", employs elderly ladies who knit adorable children's clothes. And finally there's something for us adults, too as Mamie & Moi knitted this oversized sweater designed by Maddalena.
You know that as a blogger I get tons of press newsletters. Sometimes they introduce products I couldn't care less about, and sometimes they make me discover awesome new stuff which I simply have to share with you. When I got one of the latest Yves Rocher newsletters lately, featuring their new sun care range, I knew those were some share-worthy products. So how awesome is it, that the goodie bag from last weekend's Yves Rocher event in Brussels was filled with exactly those products from the Solaire range?
Yesterday I went to the Michael Kors opening in Luxembourg city with my blogger bestie Claude. As always we couldn't resist to also take some outfit pictures beforehand. Luckily I have discovered this wonderful magnolia tree on Tuesday which was the perfect shooting location.
It was about time for some new weekend wear inspo and this month's edition is full of the latest trends. Whether you want to be more daring with your outfits, need new ways to wear old clothes, or simply want to know what fashion bloggers are currently obsessed with - this post has it all!
I already showed you the granny shoes I ordered at H&M, but obviously I had to order some other stuff along. One of the pieces is this black frilled blouse with the cute cord detail. Even though I mainly wear pants lately, I still wouldn't consider myself as a minimal dresser. For me the perfect outfit always has some subtle details and a bit of colour, too. Therefor when I simply wear jeans I like to add a feminine top like this blouse, and when I wear a simplistic top I like to add some statement pants like boyfriend jeans, or the leaf print culottes I wore a week ago. In this outfit I combined a bit of both thanks to the lovely embroidery on my white jeans. To keep it all casual I decided to add Birkenstocks instead of pointed kitten heels like I had originally planned. Et voilà, this outfit is my idea of a casual-chic and comfy look for most occasions. What is yours?
Over the last few years there have been many shoe trends which you either loved or hated. Just think of Birkenstocks or flatforms. Granny shoes definitely have the potential to be in this list of make-or-break trends, too. As you can see I decided to adopt the trend, because what's not to love about comfortable ladylike shoes?
Some months ago I introduced you to the beauty parlour "Institut de Beauté Aromas" by the lovely Audrey. I have already told you about the tasteful interior, which you can now finally see on some photos. You might also remember that Audrey works with products of some internationally popular brands, such as Kiko, Pupa, I Love... Cosmetics, and more. This week I finally went back to the Aromas Institut for a treatment I have never tried before: A lash and eyebrow tint!
I think women have a really weird relationship with cleanliness. You probably all know the cliché of the girl who has a super tidy home but whose car looks like a mess. I think the same applies to most of us, just in different areas of our lives. For example one girl may always keep her makeup storage super tidy, but make a huge mess in the kitchen. Another one may only clean her room sporadically but have the neatest bag.
Yesterday was a quite warm spring day, so I dared to go bare-legged for the first time this year. I admit that my legs would have needed a tan first, but I simply told myself that I have this noble Snow White paleness to feel better about my complexion. I had to smirk when I saw that my boyfriend decided it's time for short pants, too. I think it's really funny that boys simply take out their short trousers one day in spring, and then wear them until the end of fall, no matter the weather. My best friend once explained to me that he wears short pants for 6 months a year, come what may come.
When I heard the news that H&M finally also delivers to Luxembourg, I immediately had to check out their online store. Lately I haven't been shopping much at H&M because I found their clothes to be either a bit boring, or too expensive for high street quality. I nevertheless managed to place an order with some lovely pieces, among them the suede granny shoes which you can see above. I blame it on the free shipping (which is still available until March 15th).
