I admit that I am not really talented when it comes to DIY. Mostly this is due to the fact that I don't have the needed materials at home or that I'm simply not patient enough. Nevertheless I tend to get crafty during the summer months, as you might have noticed after some DIY posts here lately. That's why I was quite pleased when The P. Cookery asked me to review one of their crafting kits.
The P. Cookery, which is a brand of the jewellery chain Bijou Brigitte, is specialized in handmade jewellery. That's why they offer workshops where they'll teach you to make your own bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Some pieces of jewellery are harder to make than others, which is why their crafting kits are available from level 1 to 3. The wrap around bracelet that I tried is a level 2.
Every kit comes with the main ingredients, in this case a golden chain, some ribbon and the clasp accessories. Additionally I needed some tools like flat pliers, glue and a side cutter. The chain and ribbon needed to be fixed to each other with the help of a little wire and then I could already start tying the ribbon around the chain. When finished I just had to glue the golden caps to both ends of the chains and apply the fastening accessories.
If you like making your own jewellery you should definitely pass by one of The P. Cookery stores in Germany (the closest to Luxembourg being in Aachen and Kaiserslautern). There you won't just be able to purchase one of the crafting kits, but you will also find a huge choice of pearls, ribbons and other jewellery accessories. One lucky reader however will now be able win the crafting kit that I used for this wrap around bracelet and get it sent home.
