What's Up? #8

update kenzo x H&M

Another week has come to an end and while we've got one full month of summer left, my thoughts started revolving around the colder months. No wonder that this post is about Ikea's autumn collection, Kenzo x H&M which will be launched in November and a charming German city around Christmas time. Apart from that however I'm busy planning my US trip so for the daily dose of summer inspo you should definitely follow me on Instagram!

Beauty Empties July

I am definitely guilty of using the same beauty brands over and over again. So those who read my empties posts to discover new products might be happy to see that today I'm featuring some brands I have hardly or never talked about on Clothes and Camera. They happen to be somewhat more expensive products than usual as well, but to find out if they're worth splurging on you gotta read on...

Why You Can Ignore Most Blogging Advice

blogging advice useless

In the world wide web there are so many things that can absorb you. You'll spend your time clicking from one page to the next, losing track of time. When you're a blogger chances are this has happened to you with blogging advice. There was a time when I clicked on every single link that said something about tips. In the end I didn't even have time left to actually check the posts of my favourite bloggers.

DIY Wrap Around Bracelet + Giveaway

the P cookery DIY wrap around Bastelset

I admit that I am not really talented when it comes to DIY. Mostly this is due to the fact that I don't have the needed materials at home or that I'm simply not patient enough. Nevertheless I tend to get crafty during the summer months, as you might have noticed after some DIY posts here lately. That's why I was quite pleased when The P. Cookery asked me to review one of their crafting kits.

What's Up? #7

weekly fashion beauty news

During the summer months there's usually not much going on in the fashion industry, until in September the big four fashion weeks are starting. And still I constantly get newsletters and brand updates of which I found some share-worthy enough to talk about in today's 'What's Up?'.

How To Get Into (Berlin) Fashion Week

how to get into fashion week

So I've been to Berlin Fashion Week and it's about time to stop annoying you with my many posts about that topic. However there's one that I feel like I should publish nevertheless. Because in fact it is pretty easy to get into fashion week and still there is no one out there telling you how to actually proceed. Even though so many bloggers have already attended various fashion events all around the world, they still keep it a secret how they managed to get these freaking invitations. So if like me you've failed to find a post about how to really get into fashion week until now, then this one's for you my fellow blogger friend. You will see that it's not that hard and basically just requires some serious research. The big four international fashion weeks will be in September so you still got time to try your luck to get into them. There really is nothing you need to be afraid of and even if you don't manage to attend a show, there are still so many other events during fashion week that will make a trip to the fashion city of your choice worth it.

1 Straw Hat - 3 Travel Destinations (DIY)

DIY floppy straw hat scarf embellishment

Whenever I went on holiday as a child and my mum helped me pack my suitcase, she would also force me to take a headpiece to protect me from sunstroke. Of course I didn't understand this safety measure back then and really wasn't eager to walk around with a baseball cap on the beach. How good that the hat selection for women has to offer more than that.

Outfit: Print For Berlin Fashion Week

You can't go to Berlin and shoot outfits without benefiting at least once from the many graffiti walls. How good that my third fashion week look perfectly matched the street that one of that day's events led us to. And also this third outfit was designated to match my only bag and pair of shoes that I had taken to Berlin.

6 Ethical Fashion Labels Worth Watching

Frieda Sand Ethical Fashion Brand

Yesterday I told you about the Greenshowroom, a trade fair for ethical fashion labels. As you might know from some of my previous posts, I did some first steps towards the promotion of ethical fashion, and now that I've discovered these amazing brands from all over the world, I'm even more determined to make my closet a bit more sustainable. Especially German-speaking bloggers have been doing a great amount of research on fair fashion labels, but I haven't discovered any of these brands on a fair fashion blog before. That's why I regard it as my duty to share these labels with you, as they are the perfect proof that ethical fashion hasn't got to be boring at all.
Currently you can find the s/s 2016 collections in most of these shops but I was lucky enough to already see the s/s 2017 collections at the Greenshowroom fair. So even if you might not fall in love with a brand immediately, I assure you it's worth watching it in the future as green fashion will become more and more fashion-forward.

Fashion Week Day 3: Disney Fashion Open House, Maisonnoée And More

Noveaux Blogger Lounge Greenshowroom

Congratulations to those who've been bearing with me until this third and last post about my first fashion week experience. I can totally understand that fashion happenings in Berlin aren't relevant to all of you. However if you want to learn how it's like to attend a fashion week, if you want to see what blogger events are taking place in other countries, if you attended MBFWB yourself and want to see what other bloggers have been doing there, of if you just love me enough to care about what I've been up to two weeks ago, then you might nevertheless wanna read this post.

Outfit: Pastels For Berlin Fashion Week

Last Monday I showed you what I wore for the first day of Berlin Fashion Week and now it's time to finally also reveal my second outfit. To be honest I wasn't really inspired when packing my suitcase. I had two outfits in mind that I quite liked but I couldn't think of a third one that was worth to be worn to a fashion show. So I simply packed the white pants and off-the-shoulder top which you can see here. After all they're two pieces you can never go wrong with during summer. In the end I was anyhow lucky that I mostly wore this outfit to hang out with some equally casually dressed bloggers at the HashMAG Blogger Lounge of which I told you last week.

Fashion Week Day 2: Anja Gockel, HashMAG Blogger Lounge and more

My second day at Berlin Fashion Week was a lot more relaxed than the first one. Even though in retrospect I'm thinking that I should have done more that day to get a maximum of fashion week impressions, it did also good to just sit down, talk to fellow bloggers, finally take some photos and just enjoy my stay in Berlin.

My Summer Shoe Collection (+ Shop Yours!)

summer shoe trends 2016

Let's take a break from my Berlin Fashion Week posts, shall we? This week is not only the beginning of my summer break (after all I'm officially still a student) but apparently also the beginning of the good weather in Luxembourg. So it's high time to finally take out the lovely summer shoes I've been gathering up since early spring. Some of these pairs are from last summer or even the summer before, but I still love to wear them every year. So let's have a look at why I consider these different shoes as summer must haves, and where you can shop your own pairs.

Fashion Week Day 1: FashionBloggerCafé, Thomas Hanisch and More

The thing with traveling is that sometimes you only realize how badly you needed to leave when you arrive at your destination. If this happens you notice how stuck you've been in your familiar environment and how much your creativity suffered from your everyday routine. When I arrived in Berlin the scales fell from my eyes and I saw how different the approach to fashion is over there. I can't even really explain it but there is something about Berlin Fashion Week that makes you feel at ease because everyone is accepted with their own style, which obviously gives great artistic freedom to the designers as well.

Outfit: Stripes for Berlin Fashion Week

Fashion Week is not only about seeing but also about being seen. That's why I started thinking about which outfits to take weeks before flying to Berlin. One thing I heard about Berlin Fashion Week over and over again, was that it's totally okay to go there with sneakers and rather casual looks. Perfect news for me as it didn't only allow me to run from one event to the other without aching feet, but also because it made choosing outfits so much easier.
