Project Wedding: Lora Folk x Monoprix

So there they were, the ring, the question, the announcement. And now? Now I started collecting pictures for my wedding board on Pinterest, following wedding planners on Instagram, and stalking awesome locations in Luxembourg. Even though the wedding will probably not be before June 2017, it is on my mind all of the time. Luckily some of you said that you would like to follow the wedding preparations, because I would have spammed you with them anyway... While it's still a bit too early to talk about actual preparations, there is something I have to share with you already. Because when one of your favourite stores does a collaboration with a wedding dress designer, you can't just ignore it (even if the dresses will be sold out before you're anywhere near your ideal bride body).
Monoprix, the French supermarket that also sells clothes, regularly teams up with French designers for some special collections that are almost always super cute and creative. A few weeks ago the chain announced on their Instagram account, that they will be selling a special wedding collection this February. The dresses and accessories for women and children, have been designed by Lora Folk. The French brand has been created by two designers in 2011 and they only started selling wedding gowns in 2014. Their simplistic wedding gowns with playful details like lace, embroideries and pearls are perfect for the modern boho bride who doesn't like too much fuss.
The collection for Monoprix, which will be available from February 10th, isn't just about wedding gowns, but also about accessories and details, from golden shoes, over clothes for the flower girls up to home decoration like garlands, pillows and even stationery. All at a budget-bride friendly price.

Have you fallen in love yet? I will definitely make sure to get a peek at the collection when it's in stores (February 10th, but I will keep you updated on Facebook on when it arrives in Luxembourg). Even though it would be stupid to already buy a dress, I'm seriously ogling at the glitter heels as they have a wonderful shape, don't you think?
P.S.: For those who can't wait, the collection will already be available in a pop-up store from February 5th-7th in Paris at 11 rue Debelleyme.

  1. I would definitely suggest you to start trying and fixing appointments as soon as possible even if you don't intend to buy now. Wedding dresses fit totally different from normal dresses and you might start with an idea but then realize that idea is totally not working on you!
I started saying I wanted a A line or a ball gown with short or 3/4 sleeves and in lace and I ended up buying a strapless mermaid dress in blush..
Also - I strongly suggest not to buy before you decide for the location - a modern location request a light outfit, maybe a bit sexy, while a villa or castle fits better a ball gown.
Another point I would consider: do you plan to do a change of outfit during the day? Ball gown are extremely uncomfortable to wear all day long - I tried couple and I was tired after 5 minutes, so if you have a long day ahead, I would go for something easier or for a change during the night.
Last - but not least - in Luxembourg you have plenty of very nice shops - but I wouldn't mind arranging a trip abroad for a wider choice. I went to David's Bridal in London and they have thousands of dresses. It might be good - even if you don't want to buy there - to have an idea about what fits you better.

    Good luck.

    1. Thanks for these tips Corie! I definitely plan on wearing a light dress without too much fuss so I can wear it all day long and don't need to change. Also I will definitely check shops abroad, I already have a few in mind in Cologne but London is surely also on my list ;)
