Lately I've been thinking a lot about signature styles. Every fashion editor on this planet will tell you that having a signature style (jeans and t-shirt for 90% of them) is the ultimate way of looking good all of the time. However what does it mean to have a signature style? When I ask myself this question I always have to think of The Simpsons where everyone wears the same stuff almost all of the time. And even if Marge wears something different for once then it's mostly just the same dress but in another colour.
Obviously cartoon characters wear the same clothes for good reasons. One of them is so that we recognize them as who they are immediately. And the same goes for humans with signature styles. People don't just know you for your mood, your habits or your talents, but also for what you prefer to wear.
I think the reason why I didn't have a signature style for so long is that I felt the need to experiment with cuts and colours in order to find out what suits me. And later when I started this blog I also felt this urge to show you something new with every outfit post. However lately I accepted the fact that I feel most comfortable in pants, loose long tops, straight cut jackets and black booties or flats.
This acceptance lead to the fact that I've been wearing these booties and bucket bag in almost all of my outfit posts this year and the coat shouldn't be new to you either. Basically what I'm wondering is if this fact makes my outfits boring for you to look at or if you rather appreciate seeing how you can wear single pieces in so many different outfits?
Do you prefer following fashion bloggers that come up with something new in every outfit post or do you appreciate the fact that some of them have a clear signature style they never deviate?
