I think I'm slowly getting better at re-combining old clothes. In fact most of the outfits I posted here during the last few months, consisted of clothes from old collections and I really don't mind not always wearing new stuff as you can easily recreate the latest trends with pieces you already have at home. I admit that these flared jeans are from a fall/winter 2015 collection, but the lace dress is from 2011 or so. Also the shoes, even though you can't see much of them, are from an old collection, namely the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collaboration. In fact I had the idea to combine this dress with jeans as it's too short to wear it just like that. By choosing flared jeans I accidentally created a 70s look, without even trying. The good thing about these overlong flares is that they make you look super tall if you wear them with high heels. The fact that the top is longer than usual, too, also elongates my upper body. All in all a winning combo.
Last but not least let's also talk about the jewellery I'm wearing here. It's from a UK brand called Valentina and they sell these different bracelets, bangles, and cuffs with lovely beads. You can choose among different themes like "cupid", "flora" or "blue lagoon". As I love everything inspired by the sea I chose a cuff with sea stars and turtles. What makes this jewellery so special however, is the idea behind. By purchasing the bracelet you like, you're donating 10% to a charity organisation of your choice. By opting for the "Seaside" cuff for example, 10% of the proceeds will go to the Marine Conservation Society which helps to save threatened marine wildlife. There is also a Valentine's collection available which donates to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
