I've been cutting down on fancy nail art over the last few years but whenever I come across a simple yet slightly extraordinary manicure I still have to give it a try myself. Lately manicures with horizontal and vertical stripes have been a huge deal on Pinterest, so I created my own version of the trend. As a base I used a silver glitter nail polish from Only You (available in Benelux at Ici Paris XL). It was the first time that I gave this brand a try and I was surprised by how easy the application was, thanks to an ideally shaped brush. With this glitter polish one layer is covering enough, but it stays on way longer with a clear top coat, which will also unify the base and stripe.
For the stripe I was lucky to have a French Manicure tip whitener at home (which I bought by accident when looking for a regular white nail polish). If you don't have a steady hand I would suggest to try the manicure with vertical stripes like I did, as they are way easier to draw. If you want to get perfect lines you can also work with sticky tape which you apply to both sides of your nails, only leaving a narrow gutter in the middle.
Products I used: L'ORÉAL "La Manicure Miracle Repair 7", ONLY YOU #425 "Shine Baby Shine", MANHATTAN "Pro French Tip Whitener", P2 "8in1 Nail Wonder"
Have you tried the striped manicure or are you all into plain monochrome manicures?
