Same procedure as every month: Let's have a look at the beauty products I used up and find out whether they are worth repurchasing or not.
Today's news is fresher than fresh because only 2 hours ago I've still been at Moovenails to discover this new concept for you and now I'm already writing this post so you can go and check out this new awesome place yourselves. Moovenails is a new nail bar concept in Luxembourg, developed by Beautician Alexandra Gosse, but what makes it so special?
April is almost over and it feels like time is flying! Maybe because I had so much fun this month: A visit to Maastricht, Easter, dinner with friends, spending lots of time with my boyfriend, the Njörd event with the bloggers,... However in this post I don't want to review what has happened this month, but take a look at what I have been blogging about exactly one year ago, thus in April 2014. Ready for a tour through the archives?
I hope you guys all had a good start into the weekend as I surely had. Yesterday my boyfriend took a day off from work so we could prepare a dinner for our friends together. We took these pictures after grocery shopping and I'm pretty glad we found a location in the shadow as it was about noon when we took them. Just like in my last outfit post I wore my summer fashion staples: White pants and pointed flats. However this time I decided to combine them with my beloved kimono. To give the whole outfit a boho touch I added the crochet top and fringe clutch and rounded the look off with some Isabel Marant and an ethnic bracelet from the flea market.
As with most digital trends, I also have a love/hate relationship with Snapchat. Just like in the beginning I thought that Facebook was absolutely useless, and just like I still think that Twitter is absolutely dispensable, I first thought of Snapchat that it was just for the younger generation aka teens in the age of my sister. I still remember myself saying about one year ago: "Okay, I'm definitely too old for this shit!". And I guess I wouldn't have changed my mind, if Snapchat wouldn't have taken over the world of blogging. Suddenly Instagram was full of "you can also find me on Snapchat now" messages and of course I was curious to see what my favourite bloggers where posting besides their pretty and polished Instagram pictures. So I signed up to the app, swearing that I would just use it to follow some bloggers and send my boyfriend a snap from time to time. Already the next day it was my boyfriend to detect: "You're a Snapchat-junkie!". Well I wouldn't go that far but it's true that I found some pleasure in checking out what my favourite bloggers are doing all day long and only on Monday I started publishing my first snaps as well. Why did I start doing it and why do I still think that Snapchat doesn't only have advantages? Read on to find out...
Didn't I tell you that you'd get to see this coat in my outfit pics a lot this season? Well here it is in its full beauty. And as I had predicted I'm bringing on the white/blue combination in all possible ways. The occasion for this look was a dinner with my lovely ladies, which was of course accompanied by the obligatory outfit shooting. Monika, Imena and I had chosen the yard of the court of justice for our shooting and afterwards we met up with Carmen at the nearby Independent Café, where I had the really delicious Hot Burger, which you may have seen on my Snapchat if you already follow me over there. If not, my username is clothesncamera!
I must admit that over winter I always become really lazy when it comes to my skin care routine. I mean nobody sees my legs or arms anyway, right? But as soon as the weather allows me to go out with a top and sandals again, I kinda panic about the bad condition of my skin. So it gets time for some major scrubbing and creaming and as I resumed my skin care routine yesterday I want to share it with you so the first sunrays don't take you by surprise.
On Thursday before heading to the Njörd event, I met up with Emilie as we are planning to organize two blogging classes together. As you might know from previous posts, Emilie has started doing these classes some months ago here in Luxembourg, and they were so popular that she now also starts doing them in Brussels and Paris. The classes we are planning to do together, will be about how to cooperate with brands and how to cooperate with bloggers so there will be one for the bloggers, and for the first time also one for the brands. I am super excited to this with Emilie as she such a lovely person with lots of experience. (For more information you can contact her or me via email but I will soon also be sharing the details on my Facebook page.) After our meeting, Emilie was kind enough to shoot some pics of my casual outfit. As you can see I was wearing the Zara tunic from my Maastricht haul.
Girls, let's admit it: We're hoarders. And that's okay! I mean there are so many gorgeous products to hit the market every single day that saying no to all of them is just impossible, right? However I decided to be a bit theoretical today and so I imagined which of my cosmetics I would choose if I could only keep 10 products. After all it wasn't that hard because I have many two in one products and usually really don't go crazy with the products I apply on a daily basis. Shall we discover which products I would keep as they belong to my beauty staples?
You probably already saw it on my social media accounts: I went a little crazy while shopping in Maastricht. Funnily enough I only bought items that have either been on my wish list for ages, or stuff I will probably be wearing like every week. As you can see my crush for blue shades of all kinds isn't over and also my favourite colour combination for summer, blue and white, will be making its comeback. If you attentively read my blog last weekend, you may be wondering about that Zara bag in the picture above... Yes I admit that I went shopping there again, even though Zara and I surely have a love-hate relationship.
I have been suffering from acne and blemished skin since I was a teen and even though it got a lot better since the end of puberty, my skin is still far from perfect nowadays. That's why I often change my skin care routine, in the hope to finally find that one product that will help me out and change my skin forever. When I was contacted by Paula's Choice, a brand that works with BHA and AHA exfoliants, I really couldn't say no to giving their products a try. In order to find out what BHA and AHA means, and whether the products worked for me or not, just keep on reading...
Being a serial shopper for years, I've been to many stores and I've been wearing many different labels and as a digital native I also did quite a bit of online shopping. However not always did I get what I could have expected for my money. Be it quality, shipping or service, there was something wrong in all of these 5 pretty known shops...
There are people who say that Luxembourg is behind time when it comes to most trends and they are probably right. However even this small country is getting more and more open minded and so two quite recent trends have reached Luxembourg at a stroke: The concept of a fashion bus and an interest in ethical fashion. All thanks to Lyne and Karel, the founders of the Akabo fashion bus. Yesterday I went to discover this pretty awesome bus myself and had a chat with Karel about Akabo, ethical fashion and the fact that nothing interesting ever happens in the north of Luxembourg...
Posting pretty pictures on you Instagram account may be enough to keep your existing followers, but if you want to gain new followers you should also pay attention to maintaining a pretty and neat feed that represents your photography style. It may not always be easy to stick to a scheme when you just take pictures of everything you like, but with these tips you'll be able to post almost what you want, all while keeping your feed coherent.
"Omg I would never wear this!" is a really common reaction to most controversial new trends. While it were Birkenstocks some seasons ago, we're now discussing about whether flared jeans are really going to make their comeback or not. But new trends are just like pop stars, no matter how bad they are, in the end almost everybody will listen to their songs. So I guess I'm not the only one whose initial defensive attitude towards new trends, often changes into acceptance or even adoration in the end. For today's post I picked out 7 fashion items that I found really ugly at some point in my life, but then ended up wearing or even adoring nevertheless.
Easter is just around the corner but we've still got enough time to come up with a yummy Easter treat. I think what I love most about this feast is the fact that everything is pastel and oh-so-cute! I mean reindeers are cool and all but can they really beat bunnies, hatchlings and lambs? Also is there a better holiday treat than Milka's chocolate eggs? Anyway what are your plans for the weekend?
I managed not to buy any new beauty products in 2015 so far, which really is an achievement as I'm probably more obsessed with beauty products than with clothes... However I did indeed need a new body scrub (and by need I mean that I really didn't have any left at home!) which is how I discovered this cute and refreshing lemon basil exfoliating gel from an Yves Rocher limited edition. I've already been praising it on my social media channels this morning, but I thought I'll also share some other beauty novelties that are worth a closer look. Will I be able to keep my hands from them? Will you?
If you're a regular Independent Fashion Bloggers reader like me, you probably know why I came up with this very subject today. Lately there has been an article about blog comments and in fact it's a subject that has been occupying me for quite a while. Only some months ago I came across a blog with no comment form and the blogger had also justified her choice to remove the comment form in a really interesting post (honestly you should read this post, she comes up with some brilliant arguments!). So what is my opinion about blog comments and would I remove my comment form?
