In fashion business there are some events that are worth attending, and some that you can swap for a relaxed evening in front of TV. The Karen Millen inauguration in Luxembourg city this Wednesday, was definitely one of those store openings that offer more than drinks and music and so I was really glad I got an invitation from Janette magazine to attend the event.
Karen Millen is a brand I haven't had a closer look at yet, mainly because of the price range. However this store is already the second one to open its doors in Luxembourg, so there must be something about the clothes that intrigues my fellow country(wo)men. And indeed the range is not to be ignored! Fringe, ethnic patterns and more fringe immediately caught my eye, and made me think of Isabel Marant and western movies. The store itself has of course the needed elegance but doesn't make you feel uncomfortable (in terms of being too mediocre for a place). Apart from that also the decoration for the event was marvelous with the prettiest flower arrangements, cute Hollywood chairs, a nice buffet and delicious sparkling rosé.
And if something makes an event really perfect, then it's a nice company and good networking. That's why I was super glad that I was accompanied by fellow blogger Claude, with whom I had a lot of fun and met some interesting new people.
The fashion show took place shortly after the beginning of the event, and I guess we were all pretty glad that it didn't rain that evening. The showed outfits were proof of the versatility of Karen Millen's range and so neon colours were followed by black and white looks and recent fashion trends like fringe or the combination of brown and white. And now can we please take a minute to admire this gorgeous fringe jacket in the second last picture?! Does somebody of you have 850€ spare to give me? No?
