Have you ever tried Smushi? No and you're not even sure what it is? It's a mixture of the Scandinavian smorrebrod and the word sushi and thus the idea to serve canapés in the size of sushi.
On Thursday I wasn't just able to try these Scandinavian nibbles, but to actually make my own. The bloggers where invited to discover the new Scandinavian restaurant Njörd, which sells healthy homemade fast food like soups, tarts, sandwiches, salads and desserts. After trying the Danish mineral water Egekilde, that comes with really light and natural flavors without added sugar, we all had a seat around a large table with Ikea plates. In order to create our own Smushis we were provided with bread, vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, cheese, herbs, nuts,... and everybody tried to make the most creative little canapé in order to get the perfect picture for their blog or Instagram. In fact it took us longer to take the perfect picture, than to create the perfect Smushi... We were all really hungry when we finally got to try our creations, of which I loved the one with Philadelphia, smoked salmon and dill. I wouldn't have said no to an additional soup, tart or dessert as the nibbles weren't really filling, but I might check out one of the 3 Njörd restaurants in town to try their other dishes. In the end we got to take home a can of the Danish water and some cute black tea from Kobbs, a Swedish brand.
