If I Could Only Keep 10 Cosmetic Products

go-to favourite beauty staples Maybelline Catrice Benefit

Girls, let's admit it: We're hoarders. And that's okay! I mean there are so many gorgeous products to hit the market every single day that saying no to all of them is just impossible, right? However I decided to be a bit theoretical today and so I imagined which of my cosmetics I would choose if I could only keep 10 products. After all it wasn't that hard because I have many two in one products and usually really don't go crazy with the products I apply on a daily basis. Shall we discover which products I would keep as they belong to my beauty staples?

1. MAYBELLINE Fit Me! liquid foundation 115 Ivory
I love, love, love the Fit Me! series from Maybelline and the only thing I haven't tried are their concealers and foundation sticks. It's a shame the shade 115 isn't available in Luxembourg, nor Germany anymore so I bought myself a stock in London.

2. MAYBELLINE Fit Me! pressed powder 120 Classic Ivory
Also the powder does an excellent job and it literally takes me years to empty such a box.

3. CATRICE Camouflage Cream concealer 010 Ivory
My life saver on 90% of the days as I tend to have blemished skin. It covers pretty well but I might lookout for something even higher coverage when it's empty. The funny thing about the shade is that it looks too light and too dark at the same time. Is that possible or am I just going bananas?

4. CATRICE Absolute Nude eyeshadow palette 010 All Nude
I guess there is no German beauty blogger who hasn't tried one of the Catrice eyeshadow palettes. For a good reason as they are just amazing! The shades are super pretty in they stay on all day long. As you can see I'm mostly using the first three shades so I'm probably gonna end up with 20 Catrice palettes with the last three shades still full...

5. BENEFIT The POREfessional
Not really a product I consider as a must, must, must have but I love to use it on those special days where you really want to look flawless. I don't think I would repurchase it when it's empty though.

6. BENEFIT Instant BROW pencil light
I love the super natural finish of this pencil, it really fits my hair shade perfectly! However I heard that there are pretty good dupes available at the drug store so I'll probably check them out before repurchasing the Instant Brow.

7. MANHATTAN Dip Eyeliner waterproof 1010N black
What I love about this one is that it is a dip eyeliner but with a felt applicator so it has the best features of two different sorts of eyeliners. That makes it easy to apply and long-lasting at once!

8. MANHATTAN Soft Mat lip cream 45H
The hardest part was choosing a lip product for this post because I have so many gorgeous shades (as you can see in this post). However in the end I decided to opt for the lip cream as it is a lip gloss but then again has this matte effect and looks like a lipstick. Plus it's a classy red so you can't go wrong with this one.

9. MAX FACTOR Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara black
I've been raving about this new mascara before and I still love it! Deep black and excessive volume, what else could I ask for?

10. SLEEK Face Form contouring and blush palette 372 Fair
Besides from Sleek palettes being among the best on the market, this is of course a gorgeous go-to product as it unites blush, highlighter and bronzer/contouring. I am not particularly into the blush, I prefer p2's Dress Code Happy or any powder blush from Benefit, but as I wanted to only choose 10 products I couldn't add them to the list.

How funny is it that most brands figure exactly twice on my staple list? I guess it clearly shows what my favourite cosmetic brands are. Maybelline is gorgeous for everything makeup and foundation whereas I love Catrice's powders and everything liquid from Manhattan. Benefit is not a brand I usually invest in but their brow pencil is just the best. As you might have noticed the only thing badly missing on this list is a concealer to cover dark circles and the only reason is that at the moment I don't have a good one I could recommend. However I am on the lookout for the Instant Age Rewind Eraser which would add me another Maybelline product to the list.

  1. Great post! I totally agree, I could get by with just a few of my favorites and be completely happy with my makeup for the rest of my life ;)

  2. I use Maybelline Fit Me matte foundation and their powder and I would definitely give it a 10/10.
    Great products.

  3. You definitely need to get Instant age rewind erase as it is amazing product, I am running out too, so I need to get it again. I have the same Catrice palette and I am using it a lot, really great quality for the great price! Now about the Catrice camouflage concealer.. Am I using it in a wrong way or it just doesn't fit me, but it feels so caky on my skin and it accentuates my dry spots a lot, so I am not using it that much, unfortunately.. In general, you chose great products! ;)

  4. It was definitely very interesting to read this post Carmen and see what are your top ten products! I bet it is very hard to choose only 10 products as you said that a lot of us are hoarders and have way too much makeup! :D
I am not a big fan of Maybelline Fit me foundation as it was kind of oily on my skin! But I guess it just depends on the skin type and the person who is using the product! What doesn't work on me could work perfectly on others! :)
