Sometimes straying from the track can lead to good things. Oh, no, I'm not trying to be philosophical today, this was meant quite literally. Ettelbrück is one of the biggest cities in the north of Luxembourg so I pass through it on my way to university three times a week. While usually I take the shortest path from the parking area to the central station, I decided to pass through the city centre on Thursday when a friend from Germany was visiting me. And what did we see? A new Chocolate House under construction!
If you read my post about the Chocolate House in Luxembourg city you know how enthusiastic I am about that place so it was heavenly experiencing that there would soon be one closer to my hometown. And I was even more delighted to learn that the Chocolate House in Ettelbrück would already open the following Monday, thus yesterday. Of course I had to go there immediately and by coincidence it was also my sister's birthday so her birthday cake was ensured.
So now the important question: Is the Chocolate House in Ettelbrück worth a visit? Definitely yes! The cakes and drinks are of course equally delicious (I had a huge pieces of carrot cake and a matcha latte made with real tea, not matcha powder). As you might know the original Chocolate House in Luxembourg city is located in an old townhouse which gives the place its special charm, but the owner managed to transport a bit of this charm into the new establishment. The new Chocolate House is located in a newly renovated building that hosted a dress shop before, but the cosy vintage chairs, the many dark wooden details, the impressive chandeliers and the large shop windows make it a cosy and classy premise. So thanks a lot to the owner Nathalie Bonn for bringing this goodness to the north of our little country and for gifting us these pretty chocolate Easter eggs!
