Cooking Made Easy: Kefir Shake

Milkshakes are oh so yummy but a banana shake with 3,5% fat milk may not necessarily meet your New Year's resolutions. For a lighter and healthier version, why not try a kefir shake with berries? Kefir, in case you didn't know, is a fermented milk drink. It tastes like buttermilk so you can imagine it like a more sour, liquid yoghurt. A few months ago I stopped having almond milk porridge for breakfast and started eating my oats with kefir instead, which helps me stay full all morning long.

Basically you can prepare your kefir shake with any fruit you like but you should consider that it's sourer than milk so the sweeter the fruit, the better. The first shake I tried was made with blueberries and canned cherries but I'm highly into trying a banana, pear or ginger shake as well. Or how about a mango shake for a Lassi-like drink? It's up to you but don't forget to tell me if you find a combination that you like!

  5. A pear or ginger shake sounds amazing. I've never used canned cherries before.

Re: Konrad; sure you'd like it. Maybe an idea to have a blogger meeting there one day.

    1. Yes, I've been to Zanzen on several occasions. It's alright but less cosy than Konrad, where they serve delicious cakes and fresh juices.
