The Hand Cream Battle*

A few weeks ago, Mireille has launched a product test via the German "Blogger-Forum". Bloggers could apply for either a set of 3 lip balms or 3 hand creams, which Mireille purchased with her own money and sent to us. I decided to review the hand creams as I don't use lip balms that often anymore. Last week the parcel with my hand creams arrived, together with some beauty samples and yummy chocolates. Instead of a nomal review, where I would simply talk about the pros and the cons of each product, I decided to make a "hand cream battle" and choose a winner at the end. I will now list all the properties I evaluated and then distribute them to the accordant cream:

* best smell
* most pleasant texture
* soaks in most quickly
* prettiest packaging
* best price
* best care
* best ingredients

1. Le Petit Marseillais nourishing hand cream for dry skin with shea butter, argan oil and almond oil
3,05€/75 ml (4,05/100ml)
I had never tried "Le Petit Marseillais" products before but I knew the brand. I was really surprised by this hand cream as it felt so different from all other creams I had tried so far. The texture was so natural and it made my hands soft immediately! I love anything almond and the smell is quite natural, too. Here are the properties "Le Petit Marseillais" was best at:

 * most pleasant texture
* best price
* best care

 2. Greenland Fruit Emotion hand cream lime-vanilla
5,95€/50 ml (11,90€/100ml)
Greenland is a brand I didn't really know before but as I was really intrigued by the packaging I was really curious to try this hand cream. I had chosen the scent lime-vanilla as I think it's the perfect combination of fruity and sweet. What I noticed immediatley was not only the intense Lush-like smell, but also the fact that this hand cream soaks in withing seconds. After a little research on the internet I found another fact I really like about this cream: it's free from parabens and contains "atlantic sea salt for deep cleansing and detoxifying of the skin". How cool is that?! (Follow this link to discover even more gorgeous ingredients!) Greenland could thus make its point when it comes to:

* best smell
* soaks in most quickly
* prettiest packaging
* best ingredients

3. Dove Deep Care Complex hand cream with shea butter 24h
4,58€/75 ml (6,09€/100ml)
Dove is a brand I have used many times before and I mostly love their shower gels. In contrast to the other two creams, the Dove one seems more synthetic when it comes to smell and texture. Unfortunately the Dove hand cream didn't have an outstanding property. That doesn't mean that it's a bad hand cream or that it didn't give my skin the needed care, but that just means that the other two creams convinced me more and that I would rather repurchase the other ones.

Conclusion:

The winner of this little hand cream battle is the Greeland lime-vanilla hand cream, closely followed by Le Petit Marseillais. On the 3rd place we have the Dove deep care complex hand cream which wasn't able to score.

Which hand creams do you guys prefer for the cold season? Have you tried any of these so far?

  4. Hand creams are a real necessity for me as I am working at H&M and a lot of work is with my hands! My hands get extremely dry on the delivery days when we have to unpack all the boxes! I love The Body Shop creams the most, they make my hands smooth and silky + the creams usually have nice scent! :)

  5. soaking in is really important. I don't like the oily feeling at the end.
