Oktoberfest Special*

Bierfass pferd oktoberfest

It's that time of the year again! Today one of Germany's biggest cultural events kicks off: the Oktoberfest. You might remember that I went there last year and that I really liked the experience. Everything is decorated so nicely and you get to know lovely people from all over the world. Because of my internship I couldn't go this year but I was asked to write a post about it nevertheless. In this post I will talk a bit about finding the right outfit for the Oktoberfest, thus a Dirndl and all the belonging accessories. Therefore I was sent a perfect piece of jewellery to match a Dirndl, namely a pretzel necklace:

This necklace is handmade and I think it looks really pretty with the little rhinestones. The person who sent it to me and who asked me to write a little Oktoberfest inspired post was Julia from Dirndlkaufen.com. On that web page you can find the best shops to buy your Dirndl and you also get a lot of information about your perfect Oktoberfest outfit, from underwear to jewellery. I myself didn't have a Dirndl when I went to Oktoberfest last year but I found out that you can get nice and cheap ones at TK Maxx around this time of the year. If you don't come from Germany but want to have an adequate outfit to attend the Oktoberfest you could just wait and buy one in Munich (where the event takes place). For more information I can really recommend heading to Dirndlkaufen.com or reading one of my old posts about the event, like for example my outfit inspiration, pics of the Oktoberfest I took when I was there or the post about some stuff I got over there (featuring yet another pretzel necklace). The Oktoberfest will end on October 6th so it isn't to late to go there and have a fun time!
Have you been to the Oktoberfest? What are your experiences when it comes to Dirndl and traditional costumes?

  8. Süße Brezel! Der Makeup-Remover Stift funktioniert zwar, leider verschmiert er aber auch alles (beim Eyeliner)... also eher nicht zu empfehlen!

  13. Wow! That sounds like so much fun. My town has an Octoberfest or something weird like that... probably not as cool as yours. It's cool that you can travel from Luxembourg to Germany so easily!
    Hugs & Kisses,
