Manic(ure) Monday: Glitter and its Damages

I had not removed last week's glitter manicure yet when I already knew I wanted to have some more glittery nails this week. Unfortunately my nails turned out to be quite damaged and the XXL glitter dots had left some ugly traces. That's why I decided to leave my nails blank for at least this week and create the wanted manicure on my display sticks. If your nails look as damaged as mine you might rather like to read the care tips at the end of the post.

What I used:

Barry M Mint Green 304
Essence 02 Circus Confetti

If you use glitter top coats frequently you know that they are really hard to remove and that it may happen that you ruin your nails while trying to scrape off these persistent rests of glitter. If so far you thought there's nothing you can do except let the damage grow out of your nails you should know that all you need is 3 simple products:

The first product you will want to use is also the most important one: a 3 step nail buffer file. Use the first side to buff out the bruises, the second side to smooth and the third one to shine up your nails. As soon as they look even and shiny again use some moisturizing gel to get back the flexibility that your nail polish might have taken away from your nails. The last product is a greasy hand cream to care for your skin and cuticles that have been damaged by the nail polish remover. Oh and as prevention is better than cure: don't forget the base coat!
Products shown above: Essence 24h hand protection balm, p2 Moisturizing Ultra Gel, Wilkinson Sword 3 step buffer.

What do you do to make nail polish damages disappear? Have you found some more gently methods to remove glitter nail polish?
