My Trip to Paris: Wishlist

In the post about my trip to London I already told you that I'll also be going to Paris soon. I´m really looking forward to it as I've never been in Paris even if I don't live that far away. I'll be there for 4 days so I'll try to see as many places as possible and that's why I also made a little "what I want to see" list for Paris:

1. Eiffel Tower: Well that's just a must see! Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 Paris
2. Ladurée: As I never ate real Ladurée macarons, and as the Ladurée shops seem to be really pretty that's something I'll just have to do when I'm in Paris. 75 Avenue des Champs-Elysées, 75008 Paris
3. Puces de la Porte de Montreuil: A nice flea market where you get tons of clothes. (métro: Porte de Clignancourt)
4. Louvre: Be it only to see the impressive glass pyramid! 75001 Paris
5. Pont Alexandre III: Probably one of the prettiest bridges ever, the perfect place for some outfit pictures! Quai d'Orsay, Cours la Reine, 75008
6. Jardin du Luxembourg: Well, I'm from Luxembourg so I'll also have to see the Jardin du Luxembourg! Plus there's a funny story of my ancestors I was told and which I always relate to the Jardin du Luxembourg now: My grandparents went to Paris with their kids and they also took my grandfather's brother with them. Now my great-uncle got lost and he didn't speak a word of French and didn't know the name of the hotel they were staying at. That's why he decided to take a taxi to drive him the long way home to Luxembourg. However when he was just telling the taxi driver that he wanted to go to Luxembourg, the driver got him to the Jardin du Luxembourg... 6e Arrondissement, 75006 Paris
7. Galeries Lafayette: How could I not go shopping in Paris? 40 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 Paris
8. Free'p'star: A second hand shop recommended by one of the bloggers at LesMads.de. (Métros : Rambuteau, Hôtel de Ville, Saint-Paul)

And now it's your turn. Have you been in Paris? What have you been visiting and what can you recommend? Do you have any insider tips for me?

  6. I was in Paris couple years ago for New Years celebration, it was the most amazing trip in my life!!!!

  7. I went about 5 years ago now and I loved it. However we just sort of wandered about aimlessly and went where the mood took us (I went with a group of girlfriends) we discovered some really cute places but I can't remember the names. We did like The Louvre though and I definitely remember the name of that! I bet you are sooo excited, it is such a beautiful place :)

  8. I've been there loads (I went with Janine once too in the post above, I remember the names of where we went though). I guess we were quite lucky in that I knew Paris so knew how to make things cheap and the funnest places to go.

Who are you going with? I'd recommend going to the Moulin Rouge.. not actually go in and watch the show but visit the area - depending on who you are going with. You need to get off at the metro stop 'Pigalle' and it is basically a road full of sex shops. It very classy but really really funny, there's a sex museum too and a really great Irish bar next to the actually Moulin Rouge that often plays nice music (Don't go to the bar oppersite them Moulin Rouge, it's way overpriced).

I've been to the flea market too, it's really cute and quirky, as will as the tower (obviously) and visited the Louve.

I really like to get the metro stop to the Arc de Triomphe and then walk down the street down the Champs Elysee, there are loads of shops down there and also places to eat, then there is a beautiful park at the end, sometimes they have a ferris wheel which I went on one year =) and an ice skating rink.

    Hee, I'm jealous of you.
