Inspiration: Mixing Patterns

In my eyes there are several things that show you that a girl really has style but there is one thing that I have always admired the most: when somebody is able to mix different patterns in their look and still look great! For you I collected some pics of my favourite pattern looks and with them the main tips for a successful pattern mix.

1. Matchy Matchy

The easiest way to wear more patterned pieces is to stay with the same pattern.

2. Same Pattern, different Size and Colour

With this method you can´t make too many faults. Just do it like these girls, for example with only wearing floral pieces.

3. Matching Colours

Of course matching colours are always important when mixing patterns but these girls did a particular good job for example by staying with pastel colours.

4. Same Topic

If only floral pieces or only patterns in one colour are too boring you could also mix your clothes under a special theme like for example the topic "safari" by mixing leopard, zebra and co.

5. It's in the Bag

If you don´t dare too wear a patterned skirt and shirt together then you could simply add a nice patterned bag or pair of shoes to your oufit.

6. Without any Rules

And even if you dare to break all these rules, there is still the possibility that you will nevertheless look gorgeous afterwards, just like these ladies!

Have you dared to mix patterns? What is your unbreakable rule to look great when mixing floral, dotted and co.?

  2. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of people who dare to mix patterns. I do understand it though, it's quite a fashion risk you take, haha. It just seems so easy when you watch a Mary Katrantzou show, doesn't it?
