DIY Crop Top

Some weeks ago I bought myself a sewing machine. I never had sewing lessons and so I'm far away from being an expert but with the help of my aunt I quickly found out how to use the machine. When I found this old shirt I thought it was perfect to test my true sewings skills and so I decided to turn it into a crop top. Here is a step by step tutorial:

Choose an old shirt you don't wear anymore but which nevertheless has something you like.

I chose this shirt because of the nice buttons.

Get your sewing machine ready. My sewing machine only cost about 75€ and it really think it's worth buying one if you love DIYs as much as I do.

You'll also need these fixing pins, scissors and a measuring tape.

Cut the shirt as short as you want but don't forget to leave a bit space for the stitching.

Use the fixing pins to keep the cloth in place.

I also shortened the sleeves because they looked really awkward on me. I used the measuring tape to make sure every sleeve has the same length.

Then you just need to sew everything and your crop top is done. Here is my result:

(I also found the skirt among my old clothes... funny to see what things I used to put away!)

Have you tried to make a crop top? Do you know any methods where you don't need sewing skills? Don't hesitate to show me your results.
