Part 1: How to store your jewellery

As I know that a lot of people are still not sure on how to store their jewellery, clothes, shoes, etc. and as I am always looking for new storing methods myself, I decided to make a post about the best methods I've discovered so far. Today I'll talk about the storage of jewellery but stay tuned for parts 2, 3 and 4 of this post where I'll talk about makeup, clothes and shoes.
When it comes to jewellery it is very important to watch out what you put together because cheaper pieces tend to lose colour and it could happen that over night your "golden" necklace turns into an filthy "silver" necklace. Even if you have real gold or silver jewelry, better store them separately.
But now we all want to know where to store our jewellery... Well it might become hard to store everything together in one jewellery case and so I am keeping my necklaces on a clothes hanger...

...and my earrings in a subdivided box.

Once I also had a special holder for my earrings (you can buy them for example at Claire's) but that annoyed me after a short time because you always have to open an close your earrings when hanging them on the holder and as the holder ist quite small and not really robust the whole removing thing is just a nerve-wracking precision work.

I also know girls who store their earrings on a pin board so in case you have one that is still unused...
For your armbands and bracelets there exist these special holders but why not make them yourself? You could for example just take an empty paper towel role and stick it on a nice ground and then paint the whole thing in a nice colour.

(Tutorial here)

What is left now are our rings. What comes to my mind immediately are these porcelain or plastic hands where you simply plug your rings in.

If you really want to show them off you could also buy a small jewellery box just for your rings.

The same works for your favourite pieces may they be rings, armbands or necklaces... just put them all in a nice box that you can close so in case you should want to take it somewhere you immediately have all the important pieces without scrabbling about them for hours.

Now these are my tips but I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of other fun methods on how to store your jewellery so tell me guys, how do you keep your dearest pieces?

  1. These are great ideas. For my necklaces, I actually strung ribbon up on the wall in my closet and I loop them on there. But it is a pain to clasp and unclasp them all the time. So once I get more room, I'll probably do the corkboard idea. :) Thanks so much for visiting and commenting on my blog! <3

  2. I'll have to take a photo and show you how I store mine. Currently all my necklaces are being worn by a dressmakers dummy in my dressing room, which is dressed in a corset and petticoat. It looks really pretty. My earrings, brooches and so on are stored in an antique jewellery box with a musical mechanism.

I'm planning to buy something really special to store them though. I can't wait!
